The Terminus Layout: Pictures "On the track"

The next series with photos, entitled "on the track"…

Model train track plans

A diesel engine waiting alongside a signal tower.
The next pictures shows the same scenery in a new perspective. A rotten wagon on a siding, along the track some rusty rails and a tie pile:

A few minute later another locomotive is waiting at the switch tower:

Watching "traffic" on this layout is appealingly, although the basic idea of this track plan is very simple.
The next photos show a freight train on the mainline in the foreground. Another signal box spans the tracks. The weathering of this gantry signal box was done with watercolors (color "black", mixed with a lot of water). After painting I smudged it with a rag cloth:

… and the same model train from the rear side. When creating track plans, having a "parade route" in the foreground is a "must have"!

Tunnels without mountains

Tunnel or bridge? The tunnels on the right side are just a (4-lane) road overpass. Furthermore, this road above the tracks is a kind of scenic divider for the landscape on the right lid.

All fake

The color light signal in the next scenery is fake. As the catenary, it has no function. But help is coming: Right now "Hans" leaves his hut - hopefully he will wire all for real operation!
